  • Overview

    Responsibilities involve assisting the Senior Director of Risk Management with the Corporate Security and Loss Prevention Programs, management of relationships with internal stakeholders and external third party service providers, gathering and analyzing of data, records maintenance and management, and reporting.


    • Work directly with Smashburger management to investigate internal/external theft and fraud

    • Communicate and coach Smashburger field and corporate management groups regarding security and loss prevention related items. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
    • Manages day to day security programs including key systems, safes, alarms and surveillance systems
    • Responsible for continuous data collection, spreadsheet development and management. Provides analytical guidance and reporting
    • Assists with the insurance underwriting renewal process including gathering, analyzing and preparing underwriting data for marketing submissions 
    • Reviews and processes risk management claims and invoices; ensures assignment of costs to appropriate account numbers
    • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested


    • Prefer 1 to 3 years of work experience in security or loss prevention 
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) including experience creating complex spreadsheets and reports in Excel
    • Ability to build, maintain, and strengthen cross functional relationships at all levels within the Smashburger; demonstrated success in customer service and relationship management
    • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects from conception through implementation as well as day to day matters
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently as individual contributor as well as collaboratively as a team member.
    • Ability to compare, analyze, and evaluate large amounts of information and data 
    • Proven ability to convert data and information to strategy and to implement best practices and process improvements
    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, insurance or risk management or related field preferred or equivalent experience
