  • Overview

    Reporting directly to the Field HR Manager, serves as a trusted advisor and resource to the HR team. Successful candidates act as employee champions, change agents and ambassadors of Smashburger culture and values to the field. The HR Administrator will assess and anticipate HR-related needs and proactively communicate with operations, training, and senior management. The HR Administrator forms strong working partnerships across the organization to deliver value added service to restaurant operations.
    The HR Administrator at Smashburger will assist with all Human Resource compliance related responsibilities for our company operated restaurant locations and our Denver corporate office. The HR Administrator will make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation and/or employment law.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations by monitoring I9 Forms. Conducts weekly electronic I-9 audits, e-verify follow up and system maintenance. Assists field operations in troubleshooting and general questions
    • Coordinating with field recruiters and training team to write offer letters, monitor background check system, and maintain hiring database – troubleshooting along the way.
    • Conducts new hire orientation and onboarding of support center employees.
    • Maintains Human Resource records for Field Restaurant Management employee files and compiles reports from database.
    • Conducts a variety of daily, weekly, monthly and yearly audits to include meal and breaks, training completion, policy acknowledgments and other required documents.
    • Runs labor poster database and ensures all locations are equipped with required restaurant postings.
    • Fields employee and manager inquires and HR policy-related queries; escalates as appropriate.
    • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Working towards a degree in Human Resources or specific training and education related to Human Resources is preferred
    • Self-motivated, detail oriented, eager to learn and treat confidential information with the utmost integrity
    • Customer service experience preferred
    • Ability to work up to 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, during the hours of 8am-5pm
    • Human Resources experience in a restaurant, retail or hospitality industry preferred
    • Experience supporting a remote employee base in a multi-state environment preferred
    • Proven ability to provide feedback to various levels in the organization
    • Basic proficiency with MS Office Suite required
    • Strong MS Excel skills preferred
    • Excellent verbal and written communication to maintain professionalism at all times
    • Ability to organize and prioritize work
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
