  • Overview

    The Restaurant & Network System Specialist will be reporting to the Network & Security Manager, however, this will be a cross functional role that also supports the Restaurant Systems team. The Specialist will be expected to execute basic to intermediate network troubleshooting (40%), handle POS escalations and troubleshooting (30%), implement software integrations (20%) and complete various other store-level tasks (10%).

    Responsibilities

    In addition to following Smashburger’s policies and procedures, principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

     

    • Ensuring all new restaurant openings have their internet ready when/before physical restaurant installation happens
    • Ensuring projects remain on schedule and update all teams involved
    • Ensuring accuracy of data polling to FTP site on a daily basis
    • Routinely monitoring, tracking, and correcting any anomalies related to Data Integrity
    • Developing and delivering documentation related to each project
    • Working with IT team members, as well as other departments, identifying and resolving restaurant systems issues.
    • Designing and deploying new applications, enhancements, features and functionality to existing applications, integrations, software, and hardware.
    • Supporting deployment and implementation through specific training and documentation aimed at system and application support for lower tiered HelpDesk teams
    • Fulfilling final level of escalation for restaurant system issues and incidents.

    Qualifications

    • Understanding of Corporate WAN and IT systems/data flow
    • Basic knowledge of Aloha LAN configuration
    • Working knowledge of Aloha Point-of-Sale systems – Configuration Center knowledge a plus
    • Knowledge of Menulink.NET back office product a plus
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
    • Ability to problem-solve and work independently
    • Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks under pressure and deadlines
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Solve problems and think critically; independently and within a team environment
    • Self-motivated individual with ability to multitask
    • Ability to manage and develop relationships with third-party vendors
